At the 2018 Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance, held May 4-5, 2016, at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas, Bob and Charlotte Shadduck of Annandale, Minnesota, displayed their 1936 Greavette 23-foot Dictator Miss Muskoka.
Built in Gravenhurst, Ontario, these boats were ordered and then built to the owner’s specifications. Each of the nine hulls built were different from each other; no two were alike. Miss Muskoka is hull number seven.
The boat had just undergone an extensive two-year restoration. Little Rock Boat Works of Rice, Minnesota, replanked the boat with original Honduras mahogany and also restored the gauges.
Allen’s Marine Engines of San Jose, California, restored the original Gray Marine Fireball, six-cylinder, 244 cubic inch, dual carburetor, 140 horsepower engine.
B&L Plating of Warren, Michigan replated all the chrome hardware.
Rapids Upholstery of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, did the upholstery.
Bob and Charlotte offered a big “thank you” to Mike Windsor of Windsor Boatworks Limited of Gravenhurst, Ontario, for his countless hours of guidance to make the restoration as correct as possible. Apparently, everyone did a fantastic job because the Greavette won the “Best in Show – Small Boat” award at the 2018 Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance.
Miss Muskoka is truly a magnificent boat.
