Don and Jennifer Vogt of Seattle, Washington, own this 1938 Chris-Craft 17-foot Model 817, Double Cockpit Forward Deluxe Runabout named Jennifer II. The port of call for the boat is Hayden Lake, Idaho.
The boat is powered by the original 95-hp Chris-Craft Model KA engine, and still has the original hull, engine, hull side planking, instruments, and hardware.
The Vogts acquired Jennifer II in 1989, and the boat was comprehensively restored in a 100 percent historically correct manner, including the original style bottom, in 2008 by NW Classic Boats. The engine was completely rebuilt by Jim McNeilly of McNeilly Marine Service.
During its brief career being judged, Jennifer II was awarded top national and regional awards. Judges noted it was the finest restored example of the 1937-1939 deluxe runabout series in the country.
